US-China partnership and its impact on South Asia
China, being one of the super powers of the world in South Asia, enjoys a significant role in the regional politics. The third of the series was to view the US-China relationships that are expected to result in direct implications on the South Asian region and particularly on Pak-India relations. The dialogue observed that the improved US-China relationship owed much to the economic interests of the two countries. Where the Chinese had been looking for foreign investors, the United States had been searching for big consumer markets. With the developments taking place in US-China relationships, China's policy might get more influenced by their economic allies, rather than their geographical partners.

The improvement in US-China relationship was not an overnight development as one can see that China had not opposed any US move or resolution in United Nations in the last one decade. Pakistan, after the tests, mistakenly followed the concept that China might take a stand in its favour to make the world bipolar. The agreement of the two super powers in resolving the Pak-India conflict is encouraging but this could not help unless Pakistan and India agree to hold bilateral talks for the purpose.
