Explosions and foreign policy concerns
The international uproar as a result of nuclear tests conducted in the sub-continent made it all the important for the Indian and Pakistani policy makers to revise the foreign policy. The next dialogue was held to view what options the policy makers had to avoid isolation from the rest of the world.

The dialogue maintained that Pakistan should sign Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty and reconsider its stance on Non-proliferation Treaty to delve the country out of the impending economic crisis. The tests only fanned hatred in the region and the political parties in Indian and Pakistan should work for nurturing peace in the region. The dialogue resolved that only a peaceful South Asian region can ensure economic and social development.
