Organising agency: Journalists Resource Centre (JRC)

Feica at work

In these usually cynical times, charged often with verbosity, it was reassuring to find that, at least, one of the workshop participants, renowned cartoonist Feica (daily Dawn) knows very well about his positive strengths, and as to with what action an artist could contribute to social change. He kept on tracing proceedings of the workshop on card boards  as he saw and listened from a corner while drawing images, for more than a full day.  In the end, he illustrated a huge mural, sized 13.5 X 6.5 feet.

Good example to follow, Feica: "My work speaks louder than me.”Or, more artists, photo/journalists and writers still awaited to be clear about their place, function, and appropriate form of action in this partisan world!

The mural displays various images of disasters, their impact upon public livelihood, and more highlighted the significance of media to make them placed in our mainstream dialogue.
