All eyes set on Bangalore...
About 50 activists from different walks of life gathered in the general body meeting of Pak-India Forum, chapter, on November 11, 1999 at its premises on Temple Road, .  Head of the chapter and senior journalist, Mr. Aziz Mushier chaired this meeting.

The agenda for discussion mainly revolved around preparing strategy for the forthcoming fifth annual convention of the forum that will be held this time in Bangalore, India, on Jan 22-25, 2000.

The participants were briefed about the convention details. It was also decided to constitute a seminar committee comprised of Mohammad Tanveer (JRC) and Raja Auranzeb (free lance journalist) to assist the chapter in organising pre-convention seminars/dialogues and other events. Two of such committees namely the protocol and cultural committees headed by Hussain Naqi and Shahid Mahmood Nadeem already serve the chapter in their respective fields.

It was resolved that JRC would hold the pre-convention seminars/dialogues in collaboration with the chapter of Pak-India Forum, so that the Pakistani delegates should effectively contribute to the Bangalore convention 2000.

While reviewing the performance of sub-committees established after the last convention held in Peshawar some members of the general body meeting raised their reservations, as the work assigned to these groups was not done. It was demanded that the committee system of the forum be made functional.

Masood Asha'ar (writer) was concerned about the expected questions that Pakistani delegates will have to tackle in the aftermath of Kargil war. Afzal Malik (architect), however, showed his dissent. Here, Faryal Gohar (artist), objected to the level of discussion and said that Indian intellegentsia was far more sophisticated in analysis.

The participants were also informed about the travel details from Pakistan to Bangalore and a form was distributed to collect suggestions for the Bangalore convention 2000.
